Spring Car Maintenance Tips

Spring Car Maintenance Tips

Winter is on its way out, and spring will make its way to Pennsylvania soon enough. Check out these spring car maintenance tips that will get your car ready for warmer weather.

Check the tires

Any damage to your tires can be a major safety hazard, especially if the pressure is low. As the cold winter weather slithers away, spring will bring warmer weather and rains that create slick roadways. Make sure to check your tire pressure weekly to ensure it doesn’t get too low. If it does, you might not get the most traction possible.

While you check the tire pressure, take a moment to look at the tread too. If it’s wearing unevenly, it’s time to have the tires balanced. Keep an eye out for any bulges, bumps, or tears in the sides of the tire too.

Change the oil

Oil is responsible for cooling, lubricating, and protecting the vital parts of the engine. Oil thickens as the weather gets colder and thins as the weather warms up. Needless to say, fresh oil will perform its jobs better than old oil.

Change the wiper blades

Changing the wiper blades for spring is a necessary safety features. Not only are windshield wipers inexpensive to replace, the wipers keep your vision clear, even while it’s raining. Installation takes just a few minutes and can be done at home.
