October is Fall Car Care Month, one reason Mopar is helping owners to prepare for the impending cold weather. In addition to special offers, Mopar has a long list of tips for preparing your car for the fall. The brand also has a range of products to get your car ready, including all-season floor mats, tires, and more.
According to FCA, one of the most important things to do is check your tires for wear and tear. Tire rotations can be performed at virtually any dealership service center, including the one at Rothrock CDJR, a service that helps to distribute wear evenly. Check your tires for bald patches, bulging, or cracking. You should also double-check the psi, as tires tend to lose pressure in cold temperatures.
“During Fall Car Care Month, our FCA US LLC dealerships serve as a one-stop resource for owners looking to guarantee a clean bill of health for their vehicle heading into the cold weather seasons,” said Ross McGinnis, Vice President, Parts, Sales and Field Operations.
Fall is also the perfect time for an oil change. Oil needs replacing every 3,000 to 5,000 miles on most cars because it degrades over time. Fresh oil lubricates the engine, helps to keep it cool, and typically increases the lifespan of your car.
Finally, check your wiper blades and brakes. New wipers will ensure proper visibility, and checking the brakes will keep stopping power to a maximum. If you notice grinding, thumping, or pulsing in the brake pedal, it may be time for new pads and/or rotors. These are just some of the many things you can do to prepare for fall.
