Finally, fall is arriving across Pennsylvania, bringing with it all the fantastic, colorful foliage that illuminates our state all season long. If you want to take advantage of all this autumn beauty before it relents to the drabness of winter, we’ve got a few lovely locales for you to see the best of Penn’s natural beauty.
Here are just a few of our favorite fall views across Pennsylvania:
Gettysburg National Military Park
Have a side of history with your breathtakingly beautiful view. Gettysburg is a great spot to bring the whole family for long strolls through the old battlefields and breathe in the crisp autumn air. Be sure to visit in mid-October for optimal colors.
Allegheny National Forest
With miles and miles of lovely hiking trails, Allegheny National Forest might be the best spot in the state to delight in autumn sights, if not in the entire Midwest. The prime time to visit Allegheny is late-September to early-October.
Rothrock State Forest
There are hundreds of lovely fall views across Pennsylvania, but we’re lucky to have a stunner right here at home. Stroll the shores of Raystown Lake and bask in the ephemeral loveliness of autumn in the Quaker State. Mid-October offers the best views of fall foliage at Rothrock State Forest.
