The New England Motor Press Association held its annual awards dinner at the MIT Media Lab. They awarded vehicles in different categories as well as individuals for their outstanding contributions to the auto industry.
The Nissan Armada was named the NEMPA Best in Class SUV thanks to its redesigned styling, manageable size, and impressive towing capacity. NEMPA President John Paul complimented the Armada’s generous seating, noting the spacious feel is “all in a package that isn’t too big.” NEMPA awards vehicles based on how well they meet New Englanders’ needs and how they drive in the unique environments of the region.
The new generation of Armada has fresher styling. It also a new 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 engine with best-in-class horsepower at 390 horsepower. It also comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission, innovative features like Predictive Forward Collision Warning, and a towing capacity of up to 8,500 lbs.
Scott Shirley, Vice President of CMM and Marketing Operations for Nissan North America, said that New England is “traditionally one of the best markets for Armada sales.” He also said the company is honored to receive this award from NEMPA.
