It wouldn’t be a post about camping in Pennsylvania without mention of the Pocono Mountains. Here, you’ll find campsites like those next to the beautiful Otter Lake where there are plenty of family activities to take part in regularly. You’ll also find your fair share of primitive spots that will take your mind off civilization and draw your attention to the beautiful surrounding nature.
Pine Cradle Lake Family Campground
This is the perfect campground for families looking for a relaxing and adventurous vacation near home. Located in northern Pennsylvania, Pine Cradle Lake features plenty of cabins, tent sites, and RV spots. Here you can take long hikes after breakfast, rent a boat on the lake after lunch, and grill out for dinner every night.
Raccoon Creek State Park
At this park on the western end of our state, you’ll find 44 miles of hiking trails. There is also a beautiful lake for swimming, kayaking, or canoeing. Pack your tent or rent a cabin and enjoy a few lazy lake days in Pennsylvania’s outdoors.
