Four Nissan Models Earn IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Award

2022 Nissan Safety | Allentown, PA

For the second year running, the 2022 Nissan Rogue, Altima, Maxima, and Murano have each received an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award, arguably the most coveted safety endorsement in the automotive industry.

To earn the award, the four Nissan models had to earn the highest score in all six of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s crash tests as well as an “advanced” or “superior” score for front crash prevention with both vehicles and pedestrians. All four models aced both tests, earning the “superior” score in every instance, save for the Altima’s single “advanced” result in the vehicle-to-pedestrian portion of the test.

For the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award, the cars also needed to come with standard headlights providing at least acceptable visibility. In the case of the Nissan Rogue and Murano, the headlight visibility was deemed excellent.

These late awards show that no matter where you look in the Nissan lineup, you can expect a high standard of safety. From the Maxima, a full-size sedan with luxurious features, to the Rogue, a popular family-friendly SUV with lots of interior space, safety is simply a given.
