4 Nissan Models Featured on the List of the Safest Cars of 2021
U.S. News & World Report created a list of The 22 Safest Cars of 2021, recognizing the sedans and hatchbacks with high Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ratings. The 2021 Nissan Versa, Sentra, Altima, and Maxima earned spots on the list.
Nissan Versa
The IIHS gave the budget-friendly Versa a good rating in the moderate overlap front crash testing, while the NHTSA awarded it five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover evaluation.
Nissan Sentra
Not only did the IIHS name the Sentra a 2021 Top Safety Pick, but the NHTSA gave it a five-star overall safety rating.
Nissan Altima
The Altima also earned a five-star overall safety rating. Plus, it is a 2021 Top Safety Pick+ — the highest title that the IIHS offers.
Nissan Maxima
The Maxima was the highest-ranking Nissan on the list, and this is little surprise given its featured offerings. The luxury sedan comes standard with Intelligent Driver Alertness, Traffic Sign Recognition, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and more. And it received a 2021 Top Safety Pick+ award and a five-star overall safety rating.
