The Rocky Mountain Automotive Press has selected its “Truck of the Year” after vigorous testing in the Rocky Mountains. In the end, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX came out on top.
RMAP starts with vehicle performance and available features, but also evaluates a truck’s overall value when determining a ‘Truck of the Year’ award winner. 2021 was the TRX’s first year of eligibility and it beat out three other finalists, succeeding in the RMAP judges’ final vote to determine a champion.
According to RMAP President Craig Conover, “The Ram 1500 TRX was the run-away winner among the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press group of automotive journalists.” The TRX previously won Four Wheeler’s ‘2021 Pickup Truck of the Year’.
The TRX comes with eight drive modes including Rock Mode, Snow Mode, and Sport Mode that allows it to take on any kind of weather conditions. Powered by a 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine, the TRX delivers 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.
Drivers can ride high with 11.8 inches of ground clearance and manage the road with Bilstein shocks and 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory All Terrain tires. Taking control of the cabin is just as easy with a 12-inch touchscreen that displays driving information and performance details.
