Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is known as one of the largest automotive conglomerates in the world. While Jeep likely brings in the most sales thanks to its legendary status and off-road capability, it isn’t the only capable brand under the umbrella. The Ram truck brand, despite not being as old, has gained a massive following itself. The two brands are doing so well, in fact, that the head of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is confident they can could stand on their own.
Jeep boasts a total value of $22 billion, making it the clear leader among the brands that the umbrella currently covers. Ram follows at $11.2 billion, a little more than half the value of Jeep. When The Detroit Free Press inquired as to whether Fiat Chrysler Automobiles head Sergio Marchionne would ever consider spinning the brands off, he answered with a simple confirmation.
Jeep and Ram wouldn’t be the first brands Marchionne has successfully spun off. He did exactly that with Ferrari and found great success. Jeep and Ram enthusiasts need not worry though. Any potential spin off will likely take place years down the road. It also wouldn’t result in much of a change in the vehicles the brands produce either.
Here at Rothrock CDJR, we’re happy to see Jeep and Ram doing so well thanks to strong, capable vehicles designed to exceed expectations. Stop by and check one out for yourself today!
