Nissan is known worldwide for the innovation and consistently bold choices when designing new automobiles, and now the auto company has completed another first, by creating the first ever seven-seat bobsleigh.
The Nissan seven-seat bobsleigh was inspired by the seven-seat X-Trail SUV – which US markets may know better as the Nissan Rogue – and the bobsleigh is being justly called the X-Trail Bobsleigh.

The “vehicle” made its first ever run at an Olympic track in Austria, led by British Olympic athlete Sean Olsson, and luckily, you can watch a video of the event here, courtesy of Nissan Europe’s YouTube channel.
The X-Trail Bobsleigh may only be powered by gravity, as opposed to a top-notch Nissan engine, but it still can reach speeds of about 65 mph.
It’s unlikely that the bobsleigh will be seriously considered in the next few years, but perhaps this is just the beginning of a new chapter for Nissan. What do you think? Let us know in the comments, and visit us anytime at Rothrock Nissan.
