Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night & Jeep Wrangler Backcountry Rock LA Auto Show
Every year Jeep tries really hard to make certain models even cooler than they already are. Sounds difficult, doesn’t it? These special editions are a way for Jeep to flex a little muscle, show some creativity and otherwise prove how awesome they are at making SUVs!
At the recent Los Angeles Auto Show, Jeep introduced two special editions…
2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night
An astoundingly impressive design with some serious performance numbers, the Grand Cherokee SRT Night pulls a 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds. That’s thanks to its 6.4-liter V8 engine outputting a healthy 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Great power demands precise control. This Jeep is outfitted with adaptive damping suspension and a Selec-Track Traction Control system.
The exterior design is described as “stealthy” in a press release from FCA. Nearly everything is painted with Gloss Black. It’s a stunning display and along with the performance enhancements, makes for quite a package.

2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry
This special edition Jeep is all about “winter capability.” The exterior is enhanced by an off-road front and rear powder coated bumper as well as 17-inch Rubicon wheels painted in Mid-gloss Black. Rock rails come standard, as do side steps. Inside the Backcountry, standard Bluetooth hands-free and a nine-speaker premium Alpine sound system makes the ride all the more thrilling.
Mike Hanely, head of Jeep brand, summed it up quite nicely, “The Grand Cherokee SRT Night and Wrangler Backcountry both offer a distinctive appearance, while delivering an array of prominent performance and capability features.”
