Jeep Brand Achieves Third Consecutive Record-Setting Sales Month in May
The NBA Finals begin this week—Game 1 is June 5—and with them begin the last stage of the Miami Heat’s quest for a three-peat—a quest, incidentally, that basically no one outside of Miami wants them to complete. However, while Miami struggles towards the rare three-peat, the Jeep brand is already celebrating an equally impressive three-peat of its own. May sales numbers are in, and for the third consecutive month, Jeep has set both U.S. and global monthly sales records.
The brand sold 100,207 units globally and 70,203 units in the United States alone, good for increases of 55% and 58% respectively. Over the year so far, global sales are up 42% while U.S. sales are up 49%. “After setting back-to-back annual sales records the past two years, the Jeep brand has now set three consecutive monthly sales records – topping 100,000 global sales and 70,000 U.S. sales in May,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO of Jeep Brand, said. “It is clear that customers across the globe value the unique balance of legendary 4×4 capability and significantly improved fuel efficiency and on-road driving dynamics that the Jeep SUV lineup delivers.”
May was an especially good month for the Compass, Wrangler, and the all-new, redesigned Cherokee, all of which recorded individual records for monthly sales. These sales numbers simply prove how amazing the current Jeep lineup, and reinforce the idea that the brand is trending upward at an amazing rate. At Rothrock Chrysler, we’re pretty sure that upward motion will not end anytime soon, as the 2015 Jeep Renegade will soon hit European dealerships this winter.
